Every aspiring model knows it is not easy to land an agent, however, it is not impossible. Agents are continually scouting for new faces to add to their roster. Meeting their height requirements and measurements is the first step to getting seen. Ford Models holds open calls in Chicago and Los Angeles every week to see candidates.
Ford Models was founded back in 1946 by Eileen and Jerry Ford. The agency started small based out of their home in New York City and now they are one of the world’s top recognized names. They rep talent from around the world and are headquartered in New York City with offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Paris and Sao Paulo. Ford has launched some of models and actors biggest names like Christie Brinkley, Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, Janice Dickinson, Naomi Campbell, Lana Del Rey, Christy Turlington, Brooke Burke and more!
If you are in Chicago, Illinois and would like to attend a Ford Models open call they see new faces Monday thru Friday from 2pm – 4pm. They see females and males ages 13 and up. Women must be between the height of 5’8 and 5’11. Men must be between 6′ and 6’2. Ford is located at 311 W. Superior St., Suite 444, Chicago, Illinois 60654. If you are a female in Los Angeles and would like to attend their open call, they see women every Thursday from 4pm – 5pm. You must be at least 5’8. Please note, Ford does not see men at their L.A. open call, they do however accept online submissions at fordmodels.com. Models should bring snapshots with them. Professional photos are not required.
Ford’s tip for getting scouted is different than you may expect, Ford says that professional model scouts don’t want to see you in your fanciest outfit with lots of makeup on. They are looking for a blank canvas. They ask you have a clean face with absolutely no makeup on and pull your hair back. Wear a form fitting outfit like skinny jeans and a tank top so they can see your body shape. If you aren’t available to attend an open call you can submit online on Ford’s website.
