Starz is gearing up to film their new series “American Gods” in Oklahoma and casting directors are seeking extras for the show. According to Variety, The plot of “American Gods” posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle), is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane), a conman with personal ties to the battle between the deities.
The casting team is looking for background actors to portray passersby and bicyclists. They are in need of men and women for the shoot on Sunday, June 12th. They are looking for people who are ages 18 to 75 years old and have proof of Oklahoma residency. The scenes will be filming in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The pay rate is $75.00 per day, no travel allowance will be paid so actors need to be local. Those submitting as a bicyclist should include a photo of their bicycle and they must be willing to bring it to the shoot. Applicants must be available all day on the day of filming. No partial days allowed.
