If you loved the 1999 movie that launched star Ryan Phillippe and starred a young Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Michelle Gellar, you are going to be excited for this! NBC has ordered a television pilot “Cruel Intentions” that will be an extension of the film! (A TV pilot is the first episode of a potential series that is filmed to see how the audience reacts) According to Variety, the show picks up 15 years after the movie left off and centers around the teenage son of the film’s characters made famous by Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon.
Variety says “NBC’s “Cruel Intentions” follows the beautiful and cunning Kathryn Merteuil, the character played by Sarah Michelle Gellar in the ’90s flick, as she vies for control of Valmont International as well as the soul of Bash Casey who is the son of her brother, the late Sebastian Valmont (Phillippe in the film), and Annette Hargrove (Witherspoon). Upon discovering his late father’s legacy in a hidden journal, Bash is introduced to a world of sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined.” Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed on for the pilot show!
Central Casting is looking for union men and women to portray very very upscale wealthy types. There will be a fitting on Tuesday, March 29th in West Los Angeles. The scene they are looking to cast for will be filming on Friday, April 1st. You cannot have worked Cruel Intentions. The shoot is in Los Angeles, so you must be local to L.A. to participate. They are looking for upscale males and females to portray ages 40’s-50’s years old. Men need to have current tuxes or very nice, current black suits. Ladies need to have beautiful gowns and cocktails dresses. The dresses cannot be black or white, they need other colors like jewel tones, or even silver and gold is fine. Men need to be size 38 waist or smaller, women need to be size 10 or smaller.
